Twenty years writing software and running the servers underneath it, self-taught first, then leading architecture as a CTO. Palumb is not a team and not yet a company: a person in Italy, and the details are at the bottom of this page. You would find out anyway; finding out here costs everyone less. ## What came before this Twenty years, self-taught first From early self-taught projects to leading software architecture as a CTO. Full-stack and systems Both sides: the application, and the servers it runs on. Twice over, a decade apart. Eight years in a software house Half of it consulting, half building the company's own product: two different jobs wearing the same title. Hexagonal, in practice NestJS with a clean hexagonal architecture, which is also how Palumb is built. Self-custody before this A self-custody wallet and a modular smart account protocol: systems whose whole point is that the keys stay with the person who owns them. The longer version, with the projects and the CV, is at [adrianofoschi.com](https://adrianofoschi.com). ## Why I built it I needed notification workflows that survive a deploy: steps, waits measured in days, and a record of what actually went out. The two ways to get that were to hand the whole thing to a company under another country's law, or to become the operator of six services. I did not want to defend either choice, so I built the third one. Free software, decentralisation, and not being anyone's hostage, long before this product. Having administered the servers as well as written the code also makes you count the services you are asking someone else to keep alive, which is why this is [three of them](/self-hosting/) and not six. The work before this one was self-custody: a wallet and a smart account protocol, systems whose entire premise is that the keys stay with the person who owns them. Palumb is the same instinct pointed at notifications: your logic in your repository, your template engine, your provider's credentials, and the whole delivery path under [AGPL-3.0](/open-source/). Not a philosophy invented for a landing page: the third product in a row built that way. There are no investors and no board, and no exit I owe anyone. That is the plain reason a promise about jurisdiction can be made on this site at all: a company with backers can be sold to one under another country's law, and the buyer is not bound by the page you read before you signed up. A negative cannot be proved, so take this as a declaration and check what is checkable instead: who publishes this site, at the foot of this page, and the licence the whole delivery path runs under.
